Visit Positano, Amalfi & Ravello From Your Ship in Naples/Salerno

As we mentioned in one of our previous articles, there are several options you can choose from when your ship docks in Naples Port. In this article, we are going to tell you about three of the most beautiful towns on the Amalfi Coast: Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano.

As with all Rome in Limo’s tours from the ship, you can either choose to have a Rome in Limo Private Tour, where the driver and vehicle are dedicated to your family only, or share the expenses with Rome in Shared Tours, where you still get a dedicated driver and vehicle, but for the whole group that you are joining. Tour Sharing groups are suggested between 6 and 8 people.

Once your ship docks, we suggest starting at 7:30 am. Your Rome in Limo driver will be waiting for you just off the gangway of your ship. He will hold a sign with your party’s name on in order to be easily spotted among the crowd of passengers and other drivers. After you have been greeted by your driver, your wonderful day on shore will begin!

Your first stop will be in Ravello, the town which has captivated the souls of countless of artists. You’ll stroll along its medieval streets and ancient stone pathways until you reach Piazza del Vescovate, where the Duomo dedicated to Saint Pantaleone, is located. This is the heart of the town.

If you wish to, you can also admire the beautiful gardens of Villa Rufolo, which overlooks Piazza del Vescovato. The Villa was built in the 13th century by a wealthy merchant and at the time is was the largest and most expensive villa on the Amalfi Coast.

Another worthy site are the gardens of Villa Cimbrone, which today is five-star hotel famous as a wedding location because of its beauty and views. Although the hotel is private the gardens are open to the public.

After your visit to Ravello, it will be time to head to the town of Amalfi, which gives the name to this part of the coast: the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi is a cluster of white buildings gleaming like a pearl on the coastline. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the quaint Marina with its multitude of colorful boats.

Now it will be time to head to Positano, where you will spend the remainder of the afternoon before going back to your ship. Positano is a vertical kaleidoscope of colors; its houses come in all hues of yellows, pinks, and reds and the wisteria branches that cover some of the houses are the most luxurious purples and pinks!

After your visit to Positano, it will be time to get back to your ship. Your Rome in Limo driver will make sure you get there by 5 pm, as recommended by the ship’s schedule.
